being released through the Hendrix estate.

"Live at Woodstock" Blu-Ray ALSO coming out the same day.

woodstock wasnt his greatest gig but iconic for sure. monterey is a superb performance.

Monterey was the better performance overall, but Voodoo Child from Woodstock is absolutely bone-chilling. Probably the best performance of that song I've ever heard.

pq could be a tossup it was shot in 16mm so its expected itll be grainy.

the mix though, the mix, is the most pressing issue. the woodstock mix for the movie was terrible. in fact the vhs version was mixed better. i believe eddie kramer went back to the tracks to remix for the upcoming full woodstock movie next year, i dont know if that includes this separate hendrix release.

Monterey--as in the 1967 monterey pop festival.
this is the Hendrix performance famous for him setting his guitar on fire at the end of his set in a a bid to compete with The Who's act.
this same material will be on the Criterion Monterey release, but will it look or sound any better.
This release is most likely a port of the previously available HD DVD version that has long been out.
