Default Robotech Blu-Ray *so angry*

So I ordered the blu-ray version of Robotech:The Shadow Chronicles from Amazon, ripped open the package , popped it into my PS3 and guess what?

No Japanese track!!!! I am so FURIOUS! I assumed that since we've moved over to a much larger capacity disk, things like multiple language tracks are a no brainer. It happened with the movie "Black Mask" also.

I will never make this mistake again. A big FU to the company who decides to release foreign movies like this.

If I can get a refund, I will. Rant over.

um, actually, "robotech" is an american thing. it was originally created out of three different japanese series that have nothing to do with each other.

posters5 is right, Robotech Shadow Chronicles was an american production to continue on from the story about protoculture which doesn't exist in the jap version

Thanks for the replies guys. I thought the art and animation was a little "weird." lol. I am slightly embarassed for my lack of knowledge before buying. I usually blind buy anime when it comes to Blu-Ray.

I didn't think it was, I bought the complete Robotech Protoculture DVD boxset a while back and hated New Generation & Masters thanks to well...quite a few things.

This continuation is both loved & hated by fans -

Things I disliked:
- The CG,
- Missing key characters (pretty much nobody from the Macross series aside from Rick Hunter for 30secs)
- Well endowed females

Would've been nice if there was an optional jap audio option + uncut version on the Protoculture boxset. I know you can buy them separately but I'd rather not have to

I agree with you on Southern Cross though, that was bad either way from the character & mecha designs alone :P

Agree
southern cross sucked.

To this day, I still haven't bothered watching it. I've watch the other on VHS tapes from recording the shows when I was 12 years old (20 years ago or so), several times with a few beers and my old robotech action figures, while crying over minmay and lisa.

Watch some 'Macross Plus' instead. I never bothered to finish New Generations & Masters even when I had nothing else to watch - pure torture, same goes for the Sentinels movie
