Default "The Matrix" Trilogy Has Been Re-Authored For Blu Report Claims!!

check this out.
This article claims that all three of the Matrix films have been completely reauthored for the upcoming Blu-Ray release, and that the "Animatrix" is now presented in 1080p!

I wonder if they remastered the first film? While it certainly wasn't the worst offender, it did have some clear EE that I'd like to see removed. Can't wait for these to get into customers' and reviewers' hands. Well.. mostly I'm waiting for Xylon to get a copy

The Animatrix in 1080p has been known for a while now.
As for the re-authoring, I can't say it's anything surprising. However, I do hope they make better use of the 50GB disc space, rather than filling up with100 foreign Dolby Digital dubs that I won't listen to.

I doubt PQ will be any better across all 3 films, maybe slight differences here and there but the HD DVD versions (which i have) have great PQ and i used them as refernce material to friends and they were blown away.

Animatrix is sold seperatly in the UK,which is fine since it keep the 3 films cost down to 32-35.

I will be rebuying on blu-ray though for sure

Unless you only have a few HD DVDs, why rebuy them on Blu? There is NO way the Blus will be any better PQ-wise or AQ-wise?

I was told by a VERY reliable source at GDMX that The Matrix would NOT be redone for Blu-ray.

Re-Authored is NOT Remastered. The did a new authoring to do the PIP on BD because its differnet than how its done on HD. I highly doubt that there will be new transfers. It sucks but that is the way it is. That is a misleading article that confused the OP. Please close.

Well the Matrix movies looked stunning on HD DVD and got a 5/5 when it was originally released. Re-authoring it may give it a higher bit rate but what the point if the picture looks the same?
