Warner Home Video have announced the US Blu-ray Disc release of The Shawshank Redemption on 2nd December 2008 priced at $34.99 SRP. Frank Darabontís prison drama based on the Stephen King short story stars Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman.

Features are TBC but you can likely expect all of the extras from previous DVD releases to be included.

I had pre-ordered this from Warner Home Video back when they had it up in early May. I hope they still honor it, it was only $14 with the discount code.

I hate admitting to never seeing what many people consider "The Great Movies" and with that said I'll blind buy this day 1 based on word of mouth

I will buy... It is kind of funny that when the film was first released it was a box-office bomb and now it is one of Warners cash cows. Funny how things work.

I really hope this one delivers--they have been sitting on this encode for maybe 2 years, and it certainly has a slim chance of not being as great as it would be if they were doing it now.
guess we'll know Dec. 2
