http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/news/va/2...110708700.html

It doesn't say it in the Article, but do you think thats enough for them to Delay the Blu Ray release to squeeze more money?

The article listed in the Film forum even mentions a Dec. BD and DVD release so I say its still a go.

it will be out before christmas, way too much money will be missed if its not. The theatrical rerelease is just for extra Oscar attention

It does say so in the article, in fact it says the opposite.

Why did you reference an article the says the exact opposite of what you just asked?

It would make no sense to delay the home video release. Oscar interest might sell a few extra copies, but aligning your release for the Christmas season will sell FAR, FAR, FAR more copies than an Oscar push would.

In fact, it'd be downright silly to delay the home video release for a film like this.

Hollywood is well aware of how much MORE money they make on DVD (or now in this case home media) markets. And being that Christmas is already creeping up, no way will they pass up the green that could be made.

I know this is a different situation, but I remember when they re-ran all the LOTR movies in theatres when ROTK came out. Actually I believe they were the EE versions which were already released on dvd. If they bring this out on DVD/Blu-ray, and I owned it, I probably would pay to see it again in theatres because I thought it was that awesome.

I went to Blockbuster today and they already have the correct release date.

December 12, 2008 - DVD/Blu-ray

They had it on the entrance door.

Just because Blockbuster had a date of Dec. 12 does not mean that is the release date. Movie Stop shows Dec. 1 on there door and most websites are saying Dec. 9th. Let's wait for the Warner official announcement before you start stating the correct release date.

oscar re-releases are often done even AFTER the movie is on dvd or just as it's been released on dvd, no worries here
