5 stars for the movie? Really? Don't get me wrong, it's an fun, entertaining movie, probably worthy of 4 stars. But is it really 10/10-Lawrence-of-Arabia-Citizen-Kane good? I don't think so.

depends on your point of view. I thought Lawrence of Arabia was as boring as sh!t and Citizen only mildly entertaining. Movie likes and dislikes are extremely subjective. I found Iron Man to be one of the Best movies I'd seen Period. But that's just my taste.

Don't get me wrong here, I'm no movie snob. I love my Michael Bay just as much as my Krzysztof Kieślowski, but I think when you're awarding a movie a 5/5 or 10/10 rating, you're not necessarily saying it's perfect but you are saying it is at the very least a classic that will endure the test of time. That's why I mention movies like Lawrence of Arabia and Citizen Kane - whether you like them or not you have to admit they've had phenomenal lasting appeal. You could just as easily make it Casablanca, Singin' In The Rain or the recently re-released Adventures Of Robin Hood - people still watch and adore those films. They're movies that people are watching 70+ years since they were first produced. I'm not bad mouthing Iron Man at all, but I don't see it as a movie that will still be making Top Ten lists in 2080 is all.

But as you say, it is all subjective. I just get a little tired of seeing 5-star movie reviews everywhere these days. Also, it's late and I'm drunk and grumpy.

Check the B/S/T section. It can only be bought in Canada and can't be shipped to the US from futureshop Some members are going to pick up as many as possible for us but there's a limit of 3 per household from futureshop so who knows....
