Default Some Criterion BLU Pre-Orders Up on criterion.com

I didn't see this posted anywhere so I apologize if it already is: some Criterion BLU Pre-Orders are up NOW on The Coming Soon link on criterion.com.

They are EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE as their Standard DVD editions, at $31.96 from their store (or $39.99 retail). They offer free shipping for domestic orders over $50.

The Blus up right now are:

The Last Emperor
The Man Who Fell To Earth
Bottle Rocket
Chungking Express
The Third Man

No surprises here. The special features are on the site, as well. (No novel with TMWFTE? ...oh well.) It looks like they are offering a tentative release of November. Please respond if you know anything more specific.

it looks like the blu-ray for "the last emperor" will have fewer extras than the four-disc sd dvd box set. hopefully, criterion will consider a two-disc blu-ray edition.

Excellent news. The reasonable prices ease some of the pain of upgrading the dvd releases. I can't wait to see some classic B&W films spectacular high def.

I want to pre-order all of them, does Criterion charge now or on shipping?

No Kurosawa has been announced among the initial 15 releases.
for complete list see separate thread.
My question is are these going to be the same size as the "regular" versions with just a Blu disc instead of a dvd?
Anybody know?

I'm waiting for the Amazon preorders since I have an Amazon credit card and get triple points.
