Default Stargate Continuum Region Free (from Fox)

I dont know if its been mentioned yet but Stargate Continuum MGM through Fox has been confirmed region free

http://movietyme.blogspot.com/?osCsi...abf489c1c1ab8c

This is a first for Fox either for the own or MGM releases.

Is this just a complete fluke or possibly might Fox be changing their minds on region coding?

Terminator Blu-ray USA release from MGM is region free.

So it may be a policy of MGM for catalogue releases. Good for them if this is the case.

The fact that Fox acts as MGM's home video distribution arm further shows the absolute stupidity of Fox's stance on region coding. Fox are a sick joke with regard to region coding.

Fully agreed. Haven't got a single Fox title yet cause of the region lock. Here in the Netherlands the Fox titles are all 25-30 euro's ($39-$47) - no way I'm paying that for a Blu-Ray...

I dont think Fox did the distribution for Terminator, it was before their agreement with Fox the same as Species which is region free and was released before the switch to Fox.

If you look at Battle of Britian, A Bridge Too Far, Harts War, Home of the Brave, Rescue Dawn, Rocky, Robocop etc., from the MGM stable have all been region locked by Fox.

You are doing well mate here in Ireland the Fox titles go from 30 to (with for it) 55 for The Usual suspect in HMV. 35-40 seems to be the Fox average on these shores. Warners tend to be expensive too 35-40 for all titles that you can get from dvdpacific region free for between 13-19.

Its no wonder Blu isnt taking off this side of the pond with the type of prices we are paying and the cheapest players being around 400 ($600)

Hmm.

One can only hope of being wrong in this case. I'll happily eat crow.

Universal, Warner, Paramount, Sony (catalogue), Disney (Some), are region free.

Fox may realise their folly - or more likely - someone just got fired from the mastering facility
