Default Dang, Universal!

Universal has announced special DVD releases for "The Breakfast Club" and "The Big Lebowski", but no Blu-ray! Both are great movies. Can we only dream of BD releases? Both are already released on HD DVD...

They are a long way away so hopefully that changes. A new master for Lebowski would be excellent.

Give them time. They are just getting started. And honestly would you want them to rush out something like The Breakfast Club instead of perhaps Bourne?

Re: Lebowski, I'm sure it will be released sooner than later. Universal (Focus) is releasing the new Coen Brothers film in Sept and will most likely release the BD in Dec.

The Lebowski HDDVD looked great, sort of surprised they didn't announced the BD.

as big of a coen brothers fan as i am, i think the big lebowski is overrated and not as funny as people think it is, but it is indeed funny, but nothing worth buying, at least for me. as for the breakfast club, it is too bad they wont release it on blu-ray but i'm sure they will sometime soon.

That's what HD DVD owners have available for cheap, it sucks that there are likely a ton of HD DVDs that we'll never end up getting due to them not selling very well.

I have absolutely no desire to see the Breakfast Club in HD, so I am not concerned about that, but the Big Lebowski would be good to have.
