From HDD's article: "The studio has not yet announced any tech specs or supplement details as of yet, though the previous HD DVD remained surprisingly devoid of extras and lacked high-res audio."

This isn't correct, is it? HDD's review of the HD DVD version indicated a Dolby TrueHD track (in addition to a DTS-ES Matrix track). I don't own the title so I wouldn't know, but the TrueHD track is referenced under the HD DVD tech specs and is talked about by the reviewer in the audio section of that review. Surely a mistake in this article.

No, the HD DVD had DD+, not TrueHD.

I can't figure it out. Peter's review explicitly talks about a TrueHD track and even goes so far as to list its tech specs (48kHz/24-bit/3.5Mbps). However, after looking at a snapshot of the back cover on Amazon, I only see the Dolby Digital-Plus logo; no TrueHD logo.

What gives?

The EU HD-DVD, that I own, definitely has a TrueHD track. As does the US release according to the recent review at dvdactive.com.

By the way, I would imagine the Blu-ray specs will be the same as when it was announced last year and will get uncompressed PCM instead of Dolby TrueHD.

Is any audible difference between a PCM track and a TrueHD one? I only have a SPDIF amp and a HD-DVD player (will get a PS3 in the coming months).

Thanks.
