yeah I might pick it up on Blu-ray even though I have the HD DVD version, its such a great movie with spectacular PQ and AQ even though it just had DD+ imagine with HD audio

"just" had? I'm having trouble imagining any significant differences (if any at all), especially for a movie that is so dialog-driven. Certainly, not worth a $20+ pricetag if you already have the HD DVD.

Im sure it will be announced in the next couple of months but Paramount have so many tiltles coming out both new and re-issues they are probably going to hold off and this will be one of their second wave.

WB has released Zodiac (the Director's Cut) on BD in Finland. Sadly the extras are not in HD, as on the HD DVD, but the movie looks great.
This has been happening a lot lately. A lot of FOX titles (Predator, Master and Commander) have been available on BD for a long time in Scandinavia. Usually the releases av been exactly the same regarding extras (or the lack thereof) as well. |

If my memory serves me right, I think the HD DVD looked a tad sharper and sounded better than this BD. Fortunately the picture quality doesn't suffer much despite the low bit rate encoding as the master format is Digital Intermediate and with the movie being filmed using Thomson Viper HD Camera. The biggest disappointments of this release are 1) No lossless audio and weak DD track : I had to crank up the volume by 4~5 db. 2) 3 major special features that were presented in High Definition on the HD DVD are presented in Standard Definition here.
I expect the Paramount version to outperform the Warner release on all aspects. http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDRe...ac_blu-ray.htm |

This became one of my top 10 favorite movies of all-time. I thought it was absolutely perfectly done. Can't wait for the BD. I'm hoping we will at least have it by the time The Curious Benjamin Button (Fincher's next film this fall) is released either in theaters or on BD. I want no other Paramount film more than this, bar none.
