Default Question About Total Recall BD

I know this is an old title but did anyone else notice faint verticle lines throughout the movie? They are especially noticable during the very red beginning credits. I havent had this problem with any other movies. On top of that the transfer just looked like trash. I'm surprised this got even 3 1/2 stars from Peter.

I just bought this recently, and strangely enough I didn't think it was as awful as people said. I mean don't get me wrong, it could probably look better, but I'm not sure it will ever look as good as people apparently think it can. About the lines--sorry I don't think I remember anything specific, but sounds certainly like a transfer/film issue.

Very dirty transfer. Lionsgate has the most titles I wish were revisited. The pop-less and lossy T2 was almost a crime.

I thought Total Recall was a decent enough transfer.
Didn't notice any lines though. Maybe something was wrong with your TV at that time? Like maybe there were burn marks in it for the period of time you were watching it.

Its not the greatest catalogue transfer, but its certainly a step up from the crummy dvd version.

This is a title that I buy every time as long as their is any increase in quality. It is a classic in my view.

It's on the lower end quality wise for catalogue titles for sure but it is still the best I have ever seen this movie and I am glad I bought it.

Especially at the price you can pick it up for. I think I got mine for $11 from jr.com.

Everyone complained about the PQ on this one, and in my book it falls into the same category as Predator's BD: while it's not what I would use as demo material, it is clearly the best version of the movie available on any home format. I think it's a good value for the $10-$12 it's going for. I think most of the complaining is due to how many people like the movie and wanted an amazing transfer from a source in less-than-wonderful condition. It shows people care about it.

The HD DVD import looks way better. So yes, it is realistic to expect it to look much better.
