Default Problem With AVP-R Blu-Ray

I bought the AVP 2 pack on blu-ray & had a few surprises with requiem (haven't tried 1st one yet).

Upon inserting the disc, & playing it with PowerDVD 8 everything was fine. Then the movie started and i noticed that every now & then the sound cuts off for a second or 2. This happened at least 10-15 times in the movie.

AFter the 1st few cut offs I tried it with PowerDVD 7, but it could not read the disc at all so I had to stick with 8, and the sound cut offs.

Did anyone using PowerDVD 8 experience this? I looked for upgrades, but none were available. This is the 1st title ever (blu or HD) to do this.

Sure

Its the BD+ copy protection that has an issue with AVP-R and powerdvd 8 as reported AVP-R uses new BD+ keys.

see that was easy

NOTE" this is completely unsubstantiated and solely created to justify this as smackdown"

Write to PowerDVD customer support. It's their problems. I thought you had other issues with PowerDVD before. So summarize all your problems in one post and throw it at them

Open a support case with Cyberlink and /or check the forums over there. I know Slysoft AnyDVD removes HDCP checks when playing back a disk (ie: not ripping it to your hard drive but just having it run in the backgroud while you watch it.) but I dont know about BD+.

Last time I had that happen in PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra I had to get a software update that basically states better compatibility with BD+ titles.

The latest version of Slysoft AnyDVD HD should have BD+ removal. Try the trial version and see if the movie plays okay. If it does, then BD+ is the issue.

No it isnt.

There is too many issues with PowerDVD to recommend it to anyone.
I have version 8. I have been using version 7 for a year now and still do to play HD DVD's.

Cyberlink are slack when it comes to fixing problems with it.
They seem to put more time into adding crapware than getting it to play movies.

It still wont play "Across The Universe", and that issue has been known for several months now, so dont expect any updates to fix this issue in a hurry.

Time to consider Corel's WinDVD 9 or Arcsoft's Total Media Theatre.

Movies are so rarely great art that if we cannot appreciate great trash
we have very little reason to be interested in them.
