Default The Perfect Storm on BD July 22

Not sure if anyone had post this yet but here's the link:

I don't know why Warner didn't include a TrueHD track, I believe the HD-DVD version has one.

Warner has been on a non-True HD tear for Blu's which makes no sense at all.

Bill Hunt just confirmed TrueHD on both this and "V For Vendetta"

Love that movie! Didn't realize it was HD DVD exclusive until July 22.

Hopefully this wont be the same HORRIBLE transfer as the HD DVD version... that was AWFUL.

Yes, it was one of the vertically filtered ones from a 1080i transfer. The Perfect Storm was probably the worst of the bunch. I have them all listed in my HD DVD Tier Thread in my signature.

Default No high def soundtrack, no money

Ain't buying it unless it has a HD soundtrack. I don't know why they don't put a HD soundtrack in, especially since the HD-DVD version did....wait, just read the post above about it having a good soundtrack, but now the video quality doesn't sound too good

I've only seen this on DVD and TNT HD, but the CGI water was TERRIBLE. If anything, I'd think that a higher resolution will just make it look all that much more fake.

Other than that, it's a decent but not terribly memorable movie. Characters are pretty stock and their arcs too pat and easy. Not surprising since this was supposed to be a big budget movie that brought in the crowds. I would have loved to see the Terrence Malick version of this. Or even better - Warner Herzog's!!! But those would have been much bigger bombs commercially
