Default 'Bridge Too Far,' 'Battle for Britain' -- pre-release buzz

Fox has re-set the long-delayed WWII classics for June 3:

No specs or supplements yet, but it's like we'll get the usual 1080p/AVC video and DTS-MA audio.

Retail is $39.98 a pop.

What the hell is with the prices! I have a hard enough time justifying that kind of price for new releases. I ll still pick them up, but damn! They better have a truckload of extras on them.

They are still under the impression that they can sell a lot of copies of catalogue Blu-ray movies at $28 US from Amazon. I'll buy some at that price but many more sane people will avoid them until they are lower. Disney and Warner have been pretty good about their catalogue title pricing.

Battle of Britain is another barebones, single-layer, MPEG-2 release from Fox. That is if the already release Japanese version is anything to go by (which it is because Fox never does seperate encodes for different regions).

Fox/MGM - Bring the prices down on old catalog titles! There is no reason these should be so expensive.
