Default The X files or Millennium TV shows on HD....

Anybody have any idea as to when or even if "The X Files" tv show or " Millenium" might be coming out on bluray?
I want to buy these sets but I really dont like purchasing regular definition anymore.
Anybody here anything?

No, but I've been watching the SD DVD of Millennium Season 2 recently, and it looks good upconverted. Not sure if the original film elements on this show would yield a vastly better transfer in HD.

However, I will say that Millennium S1 is fullscreen, widescreen anamorphic begins with S2. I believe that's the way it was shot.

I'm guessing the X-Files series follow a similar pattern of the first few seasons being fullscreen.

Default X-Files edited on SD video....

Not only were seasons 1-4 of the X-Files shot in 1.33 (not really a problem, OAR is a good thing) but the show was also edited on SD videotape, meaning episodes currently only exist at Standard Def 480i. Sure, they could go back to the original 35mm film elements but that is only if they can find them... which may or may not be easy.

I don't know about the show, but I will be surprised if Fox doesn't re-master Fight the Future and release it on Blu at least by the time the new movie is released on home video.

No lie. I'd be pretty pissed, too. I loved that movie.

July 25th couldn't come any sooner!

I say if Star Trek is worth it, so are The X-Files. Do it Fox

I have the X-Files Complete Series box and all three seasons of Millennium on DVD, but I would probably be willing to upgrade if the PQ was remastered from the original prints.

The X-Files plays on TNT HD regularly and the quality isn't very good, looks like upconverted DVD when usually TNT HD transfers even on cable look great.

The TNT broadcasts are indeed upconverted and stretched from the SD original.

True, but Star Trek was shot and edited on film, which makes it a lot easier to make a good hd master.
