Default Passion of the Christ and other classic Christian movies would be great on BLU-RAY

I and many other people would be very interested in Christian Biblical movies on the BLU-RAY format. I currently own many Christian films on DVD, Laserdisc, and one on D-VHS. The Passion of the Christ on 1080I D-VHS with a 1.54MB per second DTS soundtrack is a movie I enjoy watching in HDTV.

Movies I would like to purchase in BLU-RAY if and when they are released
  • Passion of the Christ (20th Century Fox)
  • Ten Commandments (Paramount)
  • The Robe (20th Century Fox)
  • Demetrius and the Gladiators (sequel to the Robe) (20th Century Fox)
  • Luther (2003) (20th Century Fox)
  • Facing the Giants (2006) (Sony Pictures)
  • Bible: In the Beginning (20th Century Fox)
  • Samson and Delilah (Paramount)
  • Sodom and Gomorrah (20th Century Fox)
  • Left Behind (Sony Pictures)
  • Left Behind II: Tribulation Force (Sony Pictures)
  • Left Behind World at War (Sony Pictures)
  • King of Kings (Warner)
  • Ben Hur (Warner)
  • Greatest Story Ever Told (20th Century Fox)
Plus many other classic Christian movies would be awesome to own in 1080P with PCM sound tracks.

There is just about every kind of program you can think of on BLU-RAY. There is porn for people that are into porn. There are action movies, comedies, and family movies from Disney but so far with the BLU-RAY format being almost two years old there still is not one Christian title yet.

Ben Hur might be released in 2009 by Warner.

We might get "Passion" , but I wouldn't hold my breath on the others. Especially "Facing the Giants" which was shot w/ like a camcorder, but a really powerful movie though.

Isn't there a "Seperation of Church and High Def" in the constitution?

Oh, sorry. I re-read that. It said "Church and State".

A couple of those are not even on S DVD. It would be nice to have all those available. I see Passion, Ten Commandments, Ben Hur for sure. The others not so sure.

as for the list, Movies i would like to see are:
The Ten Commandments

and i wouldn't call the Passion of the Christ a great film, pretty gory and anti-jewish.

Facing the Giants was very admirable but I couldn't help but chuckle at the execution. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good movie, but despite its message (which is very good and made me feel that way to watch it) the movie was a bit corny. I think I would have liked it a lot better had there never been Remember the Titans.

A good friend of mine owns Flywheel I believe its called too, I haven't seen that yet tho.

My understanding is that Facing the Giants was shot on 1080P/24 videotape. Not as good as film or 4K but still the BLU-RAY would look better then 480I DVD version.

I have all those titles, of course a few are on Laserdisc since as you mentioned the DVD versions were never released.
