Default 'Princess Bride' -- pre-release buzz

Also just in as part of Fox's big announcement today:

Nice to see some more diverse titles coming to Blu-ray, though I guess this one isn't really a "chick flick" anymore?

Hahaha. I guess I'll watch V too, right after I watch this one... . I guess having 90% studio support has its perks.

It's a bummer that they are postponing this title.

But it is even more of a bummer that MGM along with 20th Cent Fox have such high list prices on older catalog titles.

A movie like Princess Bride and the others being announced ought to be $28.99 NOT $39.99

with better pricing, better mass adoption of Blu-Ray will happen

This sucks but I am glad in a way because this will give MGM more time to fine tune the movie for the best picture and sound something that MGM should of done with Rocky.

Well it has been 4 and 1/2 months since I have posted about this movie and some things have changed. 3 1/2 months ago I got a PS3 so I no longer needed to miss out on this EXCELLENT movie. It is now 1 month past when it was going to be released. I hope that this movie gets a new date soon. It would be great if it got a 50 gig disk and a PCM track as well. Come on MGM don't let me down !

edit.... I guess DTS Master is as good as PCM. For those of us that don't have HDMI receivers it is better because we get the core at 1.5 instead of some 448 or 640 track.

Fox, which distributes the MGM catalog now, stopped releasing on Blu-ray back in April. Rumor is that they're waiting for BD+ copy protection to be implemented, but no official announcements have been made.
