I watched American Psycho last night.
I watched The Lost City of Z, which I thought would be an adventure film but which turned out to be a biographical character study. I can see what attracted Brad Pitt's Plan B. Pity he wasn't in it.

Ronin Special Edition. It came in from Amazon yesterday.
    The picture looks awesome.
The slip cover is nice and I'm glad the case sleeve is double sided with one being the original cover art

    Don't Knock Twice.
Fairly decent scary movie. They opted not to (THANK YOU) require you to turn up the volume to hear the dialog only to jumpy you out of your set 20 minutes later with a super loud noise.
    AQ - 4/5
PQ - 4/5 - Blacks were a bit grey. As many of the scenes were in the dark I get it, but maybe a little better contrast??

Blade Runner workprint version dts HD MA 5.1 and over a period of two nights played the approx. 4 hour extra where the movie was discussed, interesting how most of the people liked the voiceover version just as much and they showed the Criteron LD. This was in Blu-ray too, not DVD and didn't look standard def. to me. Somewhat better I thought.

Deliverance (digibook) ... an unexplainable purchase from years ago that remained sealed until today, had not seen the movie before, wasn't anything special that's for sure, not terrible either, no reason to play it again.

Angry Birds. Will have to play it again some time since I fell asleep during it then woke up when the credits came on. Got to wonder what I was thinking when I bought this one way back when it first came out. I guess that was back when I bought anything that said Ultra 4K on it. Seen nothing but positive reviews on it. Confusing. The case it comes in is quite nice, hold 3 disks in separate holders.

    'Ronin' (Arrow's Special Edition)

An excellent espionage action movie with just enough plot going on to keep it interesting, but not so much that it becomes cluttered or unfocussed. The action is all top notch and contains a good variety of shoot outs, foot races, and car chases. The tight staging and the constant collateral damage keep it feeling very dangerous and the characters are never depicted as superhuman.

As for the presentation, I would say the video is "great" with the occasional dip in to "good". 4 out of 5. The audio is top notch. The immersive sound design really makes you feel like you're caught in the middle of a gun fight. 5 out of 5.

The most relevant extras are ported from the previous release. Arrow has added a few more to make customers feel like they're getting their money's worth. One that feels somewhat out of place is an interview with a young Quentin Tarantino reflecting on Robert DeNiro's career as an actor. What makes this odd is that it was recorded several years before 'Ronin' was made. I liked watching it because I am a Tarantino fan, but it didn't really have much of a place here and would probably be better placed on the 'Jackie Brown' blu ray so fans could see what Tarantino thought of DeNiro before he worked with him.

If you like this movie, you should definitely pick up this blu ray.

Watched this a few weeks ago. This Arrow release is totally worth owning.

Angry Birds UHD. 3rd play on the X1000ES and I fell asleep this time too. Happens every time I play it. Will I ever see this movie all the way through?
