Default Lost Season One on Blu-ray!

Coming to Blu-Ray soon. You can get your mits on this for a very reasonable MSRP of $199.99. Talk about cheap huh! Come on ABC, $199.99 for a freaking TV SHOW?!? That's insane!

Still, on the positive side, it's nice to see more TV shows coming.

No freaking clue. If I wanted, I could capture all the episodes of the season (720p) and burn them all on a single BD-50 disc if I had a blu-ray burner and dual layer discs. I have compressed episodes of Lost at 1.25GB per episode (1.25 GB x 26 = 32.5 GB) with DivX with no noticeable quality loss. Since DivX is a form of Mpeg4, would blu-ray's MPEG4 bitrates be just about the same (maybe slightly higher) I could safely make each episode 1.9 GB and still fit on a BD-50. I think it would be cool to have an entire season of a show in HD on a single Disc. Of course I wouldn't have any special features or anything but whatever. And yes I do compress them at full 1280x720p, not 640x360 like some people do.

There is no way they would release it at that price. If the cost would be that high, ABC would simply wait for the cost to justify a lower priced release.

Do you use Divx HD for this or just normal Divx?

The compressed episodes I have are normally around 700mb?

I record all my tv shows using Mpeg 2 Muxed, 640x480 Resolution, and the episodes come out around 1G in size.

This week's Prison Break - Dead Fall - episode came out at 1004.73MB for a 43min show.

I use DivX HD, at 1280x720p24 and they are 1.25 GB. If I used Mpeg2 then they come out to like 6.5 GB each, which would only allow like 7 or 8 episodes per disc.
