Paramount limited the supply and discountinued making them as soon as they went HD exclusive. Its not sold by retailers and if you are getting a copy then its through a 2nd party. I sold mine for $45 on ebay, but if you think about it. Some people pay the $39.99 retail price of some FOX movies that come out at Best Buy. Such as The Day After Tomorrow, Man on Fire, Cast Away. All those movies are $39.99 on their release date. If they'll pay that much for those movies, they'll pay $60 for a limited Blu ray of Shooter. Crazy, I know.

i wouldnt say they are morons, because if they like a movie and want to buy it for that price then so be, as i know i have paid more for some things i have bought that other people probably wouldnt pay $10 for .

No way in hell would I pay 25 for a Bluray. The only exception would be my favorite movie ever(Amadeus), other than that no way in hell. Used for the win.

Strangely, numerous Paramount Blu-ray titles are still on the shelves here in the UK. I'm not taking about 2nd hand goods, my local HMV has Shooter, M:I:III, World Trade Center, Norbit and Nacho Libre all in their sale for 20.00,(about $40.00).

I'm pretty sure every movie at Best Buy for the week of its release gets around 5-7 bucks off the list price.

Before spending $54 on eBay, keep looking in stores. I have seen Blu-ray copies of Shooter, the Mission Impossible movies, and other Paramount titles in stores as recently as this past weekend. And they are a lot less than $54. More like $29.99 and lower.

Just wait a few months. Paramount could go neutral or Blu at any time and Shooter will become readily available.
