Default 1.3 update

Does anybody know what problems if any you can expect if your player is 1.1 and needs to be updated to 1.3?

Are you talking a firmware revision or profiles? There is no such thing as Profile 1.3 (1.0, 1.1, 2.0) and we cannot help you with a firmware edition unless you give a model number for your unit.

Well, I can't since I have a PS3, but someone else can

I'm guessing you're referring to a Panasonic BD-30??? (I know that the latest firmware is 1.3 and it comes shipped with 1.1). As far as problems, I haven't really had any, but I updated to 1.3 the day I bought it. There was actually some speculation (over at AVS) that the 1.3 firmware caused some problems with bitstreaming (specifically on "Sunshine") but I believe it's been confirmed that some are having the same issues with the 1.1 firmware as well.

It makes no sense that it should bother the bitstream. My player is freezing at times and I am currently using fiber optic for audio. On Sunshine it froze so bad that it would'nt let me turn it off or open the door.I had to unplug it and then start the disc over.

That's interesting.

Like Bryan, I updated my Panasonic BD 30 firmware to 1.3 the day I bought it and everything has worked fine. No problems with :Sunshine: which I watched tonight.

I updated my BD-30 to 1.3 as soon as it came out, no problems with any disc including Sunshine. Maybe you have a bad disc.

I plan to just buy "Sunshine" myself maybe tomorrow and see if I have any significant problems with my bd-30 Ighaze. I'll report back for sure. I think it will be ok. Let's not get too overly concerned just yet.

Thanks.I should have the firmware disc next week.I still worry about people saying that it causes audio dropouts.I rented Sunshine and will watch it again before taking it back today.

One other weird thing to report.I rented Disney's Meet The Robinsons and dozed off while watching it(those recliners will do that to you). When I woke up the audio was out of sync with the pic.I scanned back a bit and it was fine from there on out.
