Default Paramount considering returning to Blu

No lingering for the format war if this occurs. It will be a quick exit for HD DVD.

They said they are not switching, though.

The sooner the better. I hope they make an announcement before Q1 2008 is over.

Even though I have been an HD DVD supporter until the warner announcement, Id like to see this happen quickly so I can get what I really want: one format with all my favorite movies in HD.

I wonder if they would go neutral instead of switching. That way they hold true to them supporting HD-DVD, but go where the money is [going to be].

Just read in Digital Bits Paramount does have an emergency escape route in their contract and they intend on using it.
So far, they hadn't released anything I've wanted to buy yet since they went HD-DVD exclusive. Well, maybe Face/Off. Haven't picked that one up yet.
Personally, I hated Transformers, so it's not my problem, but I was wondering: did any of you guys end up buying it on DVD, thinking it would be forever till it was released in Blu, if at all? That would really piss me off. They should let you trade in your dvd for a blu-ray if you pay the difference. Highly doubtful though...

Paramount, you can end this thing really quickly by just giving up. The sooner you do, the sooner you can release all your catalog titles so I can buy them...

Yeah...and Warner said they were going to stay neutral and a few weeks later we all found out otherwise. Same could be said for Paramount.
