Default Fox Re-Announces 'I, Robot' and 'Ice Age'

No huge surprises here, but in a new press release Fox has announced the long-awaited debuts of 'I, Robot' and 'Ice Age' (both of which were originally scheduled for high-def release in 2007 but subsequently delayed).

MPEG-2? Really?

Why waste the space and bandwidth? Still, at least they're actually getting released. And whatever happened to Master and Commander?

well I would say there IS one small surprise---they were announced for AVC/mpeg4 originally and are now MPEG2. I mean is this a joke or something? You gotta be kidding at this point in time right?
and people keep saying the studios aren't impacting adoption.
uhhhhh sure thing.
Fox really continues to have NO clue. I mean this is just astounding.
yeah where is Master and.."? Guess not coming in Q1

countdown to "oh but mpeg2 is really the same/just as good as....." in
5....................
4.......................
3.............................
2...........................
1.........................

You can always count on Fox to give the "technically superior in every way" Blu-Ray club a swift kick in the backside.

6 "Must haves" for us = 6 "Must delays" for FOX.

Why are they releasing in mpeg2??? And what's with Fox and DTS-MA? Hardly anyone can make use of that yet.

Actually it's 8 titles announced at the moment for first three months.

And if you take a look at HD DVD side
Universal has 8 titles
Paramount has 4 titles
Dreamworks has 2 titles announced at the moment.

Now go and cry!

Looks like some great titles, I am interested in most of them. I am sure this isn't all of them but an announcement of only a few. I am still hoping for Sound of Music, Hello Dolly!, Patton, The Longest Day, other Rodgers and Hammersteins and a few of the Cinemascope films. It would be nice to have a few of the big classics on my shelf.

M-peg 2? What the?

And again with the bare bones releases (Man on Fire). That release had great bonus content.

Plus I like the comment "or most of the special features". How about making use of all that extra space? Oh wait, it's Fox. I forgot.
