Default POTC: AWE having lockup problems

Several reports have surfaced on other forums of PS3 owners (version 2.01) having lockup problems with POTC: At World's End. Apparently, it locks up at the menu and they can't get it to play.

Is this just limited to PS3s or has anyone with a standalone had problems? My copy arrives from Amazon tomorrow and I'd particularly be interested in hearing from those that have tried POTC:AWE in a Panny BD30!

Thanks!

Mark

Sampled POTC 3 today on my Sony BDPS300 and it played fine. No lock-up.

More reports in other forums. It turns out the problem is due to PS3s being set for 1080p/24. Pirates:AWE is not playable at 1080p/24. Turn 1080p/24 off in the PS3 and all should be OK.

The Only issue I had was when I put the disc in it at first came up as a non playable disc. I exited and it immediately reconized the disc. weird.

I have issues with the lockup as well, using a Samsung BD-P1200, and playing it at 720p - that's my native resolution...

My Blu-Ray plays the coming attractions from POTC3 but when it comes to the movie it does nothing. Ice Age:The Meltdown had no problems when I played it though. I have a Samsung BD-P1000. Could it be I just need a firmware update?

Oh? Why isn't it playable at 1080p/24?

Works just fine on my PS3 but I've got the 24hz set to automatic so it might not be using it.
