Default Independence Day, delayed. Confirmed!

I know this was posted befor, because I was the first to post it, then several followed suite. About two weeks ago I got an email from Amazon, that told me that the, availability of the Blu-Ray Independence Day has changed. I checked the Fox web site and it still had it for a Dec. 4th release. I have checked it several times since then and it was there. When I first received the email I even went as far as calling Fox and they said as far as they knew it was still on for Dec. 4th. Well, I just now looked again, and the movie is no longer even listed on the site. I searched for it, dug true all the other versions of the movie, but could not find it. The Fox hot line opens in 2 hours, I will call again.

Please note, I, Robot Blu-Ray was done the same way. It was taken down, and is still not back up.

The Fly was not up on Amazon and it was not delayed. Guess we will have to wait until release date, it might pop up here and there like The Fly did. Most likely Amazon cannot meet demand due to low production... I blame Pirates 3.

No, Fox, no longer has it listed. I'm calling them in a hour when their lines open

I just talked to a woman from Fox, and she couldn't find the release on it, but I am going to assume it's delayed since it was taken down. Fox's coustomer service is about as usful as a Blu-Ray disc in an A3

Look, until it is the Friday before it comes out, we will not know. If an announcement is to be made, it will be made on Friday.
That's the way Fox rolls now.

Yea, and BR better be glad they have more than Fox on their side cause if not I wouldn't worry with BR. But I like to many other movies on BR to go only to HD. I just find it really sorry of Fox not to announce it.

First they screw up the Die Hard movie, no this.... They better be glad The Day After Tomorrow and 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer was good or they would lose all my support.

Never seen it on comcast, don't even know what that is . But this is the movie I've been wanting since I went Hi-Def, didn't and don't care which format it comes out on, but it better be good. I will only buy this from Fox cause it's my third favorite movie of all time.

+1

I'm hoping it will be a demo disk when it finally arrives.

I just got off the phone with our Fox rep and she said that as far as Fox Home Entertainment is concerned no delayed is planned for Independence Day and Fox has not told any retailers or distributors there is going to be a delay.

We haven't received our shipment of ID4 yet but that's not unusual for a Fox Blu-Ray release. So there is no confirmed delay according to Fox as of today and they say the title is still set to be on shelves this coming Tuesday. Every other Fox title has already shown up at our warehouses, although some like Cast Away were far smaller than they should have been.
