Question Groundhog Day on Jan 29? Ghostbusters Q4 2008?

Sony Pictures will be releasing Groundhog Dog: The 15th Anniversary Edition on DVD on January 29, 2008. No word on a Blu-ray version yet, but I would be quite surprised if Sony passed up the opportunity to release the film on the format at this time.

According to IGN DVD, the DVD's bonus materials include:

"A Different Day: An Interview with Harold Ramis"
"The Study of Groundhogs: A Real Life Look at Marmots"
Newly discovered Deleted Scenes
"The Weight of Time" - a documentary on the making of "Groundhog Day"
Audio Commentary with Director Harold Ramis

Speaking of Harold Ramis and Bill Murray, I sure hope Ghostbusters makes it to Blu-ray next year along side "Ghostbusters: The Video Game" in October. I was really disappointed that Sony didn't release it this year in time for Halloween (Not to mention WB releasing Poltergeist on blu-ray... ) If it doesn't make it out next year, then it should be a lock for 2009 since that will be "Ghostbusters" 25th anniversary and "Ghostbusters II" 20th anniversary.

I too would be surprised if Sony didn't release this on Blu-ray, but since there's no announcement, it doesn't look promising.

This is definitely a highly desired title.

Releasing Ghostbusters on blu would be a great tie in for the game...and release them both on Halloween would also make sense. I would pick both of them up asap.

Well considering that about 5 great movies ("Silence of the Lambs","Lawrence of Arabia", "The Graduate" for starters ) have been re-mastered and come out on dvd in the past few months, without a corresponding Blu-Ray release, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Dude I'm only 24...Don't ever mention Ghostbusters 25th ann and 20th ann ever again. Where the hell did those years go? WOW...I feel old all of a sudden.

FYI...I'm still scared of the dog things in GB & don't ever invite me over to watch Ernest Scared Stupid either Childhood fears follow you through life I guess.

Thumbs up

If Sony doesn't release a three disc boxset next October that looks similar to this for the PS3, then they completely fail at cross media marketing.

You aren't old by any stretch of the imagination. What I would give to be 24 again.
