Default Fifth Element remaster video codec?

Can someone tell me what codec The Fifth Element remastered uses?

here at High-Def Digest the reveiw says it's AVC
and Blu-ray.com also say AVC
but DVD Authority lists it as MPEG 2

I ask because I'm trying to see what version I have. I ordered the remastered version from Amazon.com,which I though used MPEG 4 AVC, But the video codec display on my PS3 tells me MPEG 2

If it has TrueHD then you have the remastered version. If you only have PCM 5.1, then you have the older version.

Isn't the easier way to tell the bar at the bottom of the cover? Flat gray is the original, shiny silver is the remaster.

first off thats for the replys

But that's my problem though it appears to be the remastered version
i.e. silver bar, TrueHD, barcode
But the codec is the old version's MPEG 2 and not the remastered MPEG-4

Is it possible that I got the new case but old disc?

*EDIT*
here are the numbers off the back of the disc

First line
IFPI L321 BVDL-010450A1 6 A01
__________________________________________________ _____________
Second Line
IFPI L322 AOS BVDL-101450B1 3

Mine has the same numbers and I have confirmed using my display button that it's MPEG-4.

BTW, I believe you add an extra "1" here 101450B1.

Wasn't the old disc one of the Sony ones that had the generic Blu-ray swoosh and the title on it? So if your disc has artwork, that would be a good sign you have the remaster.

If your PS3 is telling you the codec is MPEG-2, then you definitely have the old disc. That's the only indication that matters.

possible the copy you bought was re-shrinked. Meaning someone had purchased it, switched out the disc with the older version, re-shrink-wrapped the case and returned it.

Maybe the best way to find out for sure is to look for the TrueHD track in Audio Settings menu.
