Default Pissed at Circuit City

As of right now, I will no longer be ourchasing items at Circuit City due to their lack of Blu-Rays. Today I went in for a deal. I had a gift card for about $40 and a coupon that expired today that was spend $100 and get a 15 dollar gift card. Now, I really wanted Hairspray...like extremely wanted it. So I go in, not in the section. Of course, I didnt expect it to be their since each rack had like 2 BD's in each of them. But, for the sale I did grab copies of Crash, Ocena's 13, and Pixar Shorts so I'd be ready for buying. I ask the man if they had Hairspray in BD and flat out said no. I was shocked by the answer, espically since Black Friday is in 3 days. So, I find a different person. A lot easier to talk to, and said 3 copies were in. Since it wasn't anywhere in the store(trust me I checked) he began going through the boxes, but mid way through said we didnt get them. Im absolutly speechless by the way they treat hi-def media people at circuit city. I guess now I'll be going to Best Buy where they actually have BD's.

Oh, btw, they had spiderman 3 but not ratatouuille....once again i was speechless!!!

Has this hapened to anyone else??

Best Buy isn't much better. They both seem to constantly get the highdef stuff late or not at all. And, the vast majority of the people working there don't have a clue what highdef is about. I do my best to educate my co-workers at the Circuit City I work at, but they are mostly high-schoolers and just don't really give a crap. I go in every Tuesday to see if we got the new HD releases and the people in the movie/music department have no idea. It's sort of sad, but what do you expect? They sell 1% or less of the movies on BD or HD, why should they bother when it's such a low percentage of their sales.

I find CC to be repulsive. The majority of them where I live have BD and HDs all on like 3 racks (seperated), not even alphabatized and about 6 deep. So you literally have to flip through them all to find what you want....I feel like I'm at Cheap-O discs looking for a used CD.

You then ask if they have such and such movie and they start flipping with you. When that fails, they look at their inventory sheet...yes, a sheet of paper and if it's not on there....it probably hasn't been released yet or it's been recalled by the studio. I actually went in looking for Shrek since it was advertised in their ad, yet 3 out of the 4 stores I went to didn't even get a copy in.

For a electronic store...it's embarrassing. I expect this from Wal-mart, but not from an electronic store.

So, I hear ya.....

Actually, our best buy is quite good. I normally check (its on the way home from work) on Tues. or Wed. and they always have the new copies in stock. They even had to add racks because they had so many titles available. I'm incredibally impressed with Best Buy (or at least the one near my home). Anyways, I'm traveling today for thanksgiving, and I'm hoping I cross paths with another cc, the deal is just too good and i hoping they actually ave them in stock. If they dont, CC lost me as a customer forever, and I'll head to Best Buy or even BJ's (which surisingly had Rat.!!)

My CC's HD section is a high-priced joke. Old titles are around $34.99, when on Amazon they're $19.99, and their selection sucks to boot. Everything is out of order as well.

Ya, ours is like that, the DVD's area all stacked one behind the other making it extremely difficult to find anything. You have to flip through them and they spill on the floor. Nothing is in order, it's a complete pain. They are re-organizing it and putting them on the shelf like books. It should make it a little easier to find stuff, even though you will get a crik in your neck .

Funny you mention the part that they fall on the floor because I forgot to mention that all of the movies are enclosed in cases like videogames, so, when you do flip through them they do fall on the floor....by the time I was done I was so annoyed flipping that I left a few of them on the floor. I'm sure the people watching the security cameras were getting a kick out of me trying to look for a movie with them falling on the floor all the time and me continuously picking them up. I'm surprised I didn't hit my head on the edge of the display case.

We have neither a BB or CC for that I'm thankful. Our Wal-Mart may get one of each weeks releases on one of the formats. They surprised me this week. They got each Die Hard (no set) and Hair Spray (which I'm gonna get) but for now on I will do most of my shopping online. I think I may get Amazon Prime for the 2-day////overnight shipping. Not only will I save about $10 a week on movies, I'm guaranteed to get them without a huge wait. (most of the time)

My local CC is like that too. I went there during their October BOGO sale to get Casino Royale.... I had to dig through the entire rack to find it as nothing was organized.

I wanted Iwo Jima or Flags, those weren't there at all. If I go to my local Best Buy, I found every BD movie out there. I should go and pick up Robocop to replace my Criterion edition.... CC really needs to get their act together.
