Default potter blu ray: 16 or 24 bit pcm???

Does anyone have this info for the US release yet? we're sub 3 weeks and I know the hd dvd has trueHD 24 bit on that release, and considering the extras are of no real concern to me, getting the best quality audio is put front and center as I'm sure the video will be the exact same encode on both formats. Thanks.

The UK version of The Goblet of Fire has TrueHD, but I believe both BD and HD versions of 1-5 are only DD+...

According to Amazon (only site so far that I found any disc specs on) both are DD+ 5.1... Where did you see that it is TrueHD?...

also, all the euro versions have trueHD on it, and I can't imagine they would change that up for the US release.

Where are you reading that the HD DVD version will have 24-bit TrueHD? I only see that it has TrueHD which means the BD will more than certainly have matching audio w/ TrueHD or LPCM or both. All of Warner's titles w/ lossless audio - BD and HD DVD - have only ever been 16-bit.

I've got the U.K Release of Potter 5 on Blu Ray and it says 5.1 PCM on the back and has it in the audio options

I'm not going to be home until the end of the week so will fire it up and see if its 16/24 bit.

Got Potter 4 on HD and that has Dolby True HD

Shouldn't the PCM sound the same as TrueHD anyway? Given that both are lossless. I thought they use TrueHD on HD DVD because it's required by the spec to support it and it's less space consuming than doing Uncompressed PCM. From a purely subjective standpoing most TrueHD and PCM soundtracks ion disks that have both options sound the same to me.

It's according to what bitrate they encode it at. Like on Spider-man 3 it had a 24 bit Dolby TrueHD track & a 16 bit LPCM track.

Can anyone confirm what bitrate is on the Blu-ray editions? That's what I have on order.

You sure bitrate isn't when it says 6Mbps or 1.5Mbps?
