Default 'The Wicker Man' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'The Wicker Man' on Blu-ray is up. He found the movie itself to be an unintentional campfest and a total misfire for noted writer/director Neil LaBute. As an Blu-ray release, however, this one fares pretty well, earning 4 stars (out of five) for video, and 3.5 stars for audio.

yet again, this title is not to be found on Bluray disc to rent at either Blockbuster.com or Netflix.com (although netflix is stocking the HD-DVD for whatever biased reason)

just bumping this. STILL no 'wicker man' on bluray at either of these online rental places. Anyone know what's up?

How'd it get burned? How'd it get burned? How'd it get burned?!??

Fantastic. Funniest movie I've seen all year.

this is one movie not to be missed. Nicholas Cage is at his best.

It's unfortunate the remake is so bad, because the original is so poorly directed. Robin Hardy had no idea how to pace a story that is nothing but one big red herring until the last few moments. I've never directed a film, and I could have done better.

Many of us actually like the new movie and the original. Both have their place. Didn't like the yellow filter applied to the cage BD though, but yellow tint was not nearly as horrible as The Perfect Getaway 2009.

and the film isn't anywhere near as bad as the perfect getaway, either.
