Default Amazon Canada seems to have LA VIE EN ROSE in Blu-Ray

Strange. AMAZON.CA (Amazon Canada) announces LA VIE EN ROSE in Blu-Ray for tomorrow. See Link Here...

I assume this is because Canadian rights were handled by a different company.

I have not seen any annoucement from New Line/Picturehouse here about their HD plans. THE SD-DVD is coming out tomorrow in the US as far as I can tell.

Anyone in Canada knows more about this?

too bad canadians are still paying prices as though it's 1999... 50 buck retail price? Canadians need to revolt against their retail chains big time.

This title will be released by TVA FILM here in Québec, it's their first BluRay release, they are planning more to come like the Quebec Production , C.R.A.Z.Y. and other films from France...

We will have to see the quality then. I also wonder if they will have English subtitles.

I've compared the new Canadian Blu-ray to the Region 1 Extended version on my website.
It is 1080i and has non-removable subtitles but the image is, expectantly, superior to SD.

Best,
Gary

To those who are really intersted in this movie, I suggest you take a look at the french (France) edition. It's a bit more expensive but the picture quality is better and in 1080p. It also has English subtitles. Not so cool however, most extras are on a PAL DVD.

It's available at Amazon France and Mediadis :

****://***.amazon.fr/gp/product/B000WTYRDA or ***://***.mediadis.com/video/detail.asp?id=174864 (I can't post URLs yet so just copy/paste with http and www).
