Default 'RoboCop' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's review of 'RoboCop' is up. Although he says this long-awaited Blu-ray release boasts a superior video transfer compared to the canceled-at-the-last-minute earlier version, overall he found this one a disappointment.

Starship Troopers probably never made any money, they may still be struggling to make their investment back, therefore it as to be regarded as a financial flop. However artistically, it's one hell of a movie.

What information are you basing this on? It made more money in the theaters then its budget and it was very successful on DVD and VHS even.

Anyways, back on topic. This sounds like the best Robocop can look and its an all time great late-80s ultra violent action movie. I will be picking this up.

With these older titles I don't expect them to look like new movies, this is probably the best Robocop will ever look. And I'm happy it's the unrated version. It's an old favourite of mine so I'll pick it up when released in Australia.

Try taking a look at Casablanca - it looks superb and it was made in the early 1940's. There's no reason why a movie made in the 1980's can't look superb as well, especially since it's much newer.

Surely thats only valid if the source has been treated with the respect it deserves. Warners spent serious money over the years keeping this one up to date.

I have to say Im quite pissed over this release. They even took the trailer away????

I suspect that in probably 18/24 months their will be a double dip with all new extras and the original print properly remastered.

Having got the 20th anniversary 2 disc edition that is the unrated cut too im going to pass on this one.

How can they justify this price.

Import Starship Troopers from the UK it looks fantastic.
