Default 28 Days Later

After watching the movie I dont think this was a good choice for a high def movie....the picture quality was terrible up until the last 5 minutes of the movie. I think it's a great film and I know it wasn't shot with the best equipment but the entire thing looked really blurry until the last scene.

Totally agree. I posted something similar to this in the 28 Weeks Later threads. I think this is heading for ebay.

According to the box, this is supposed to be 1.85:1. However I don't see any black bars on my 16:9 screen when using my PS3 for playback. Anyone else see this?

I'm wondering if it it not cropped correctly--there is one scene near the beginning where it does a wipe from the red skyline, but before the wipe, you can see part of someone's face in the top left corner. I'm wondering if this is supposed to be there or is this something I'm not supposed to see with 1.85:1 but it's there in the 1.78:1 view

(Watching on 1080p LCD TV)

A whole whole bunch of movies that are supposed to be 1.85 to 1 fill in the entire 16X9 screen.

In fact, EVERY DVD made I have that shows 1.85 to 1 fills up the entire 16X9 Screen.

Plus, don't forget about overscan on your Television itself, that alone would probably make the very small bars, even smaller or non existent.

It was shot using mini DV camcorders I think. It does seem like an odd choice for high def.

1.85:1 is so similar to 1.78:1 that TV over-scan makes it fill the screen. If you used Pioneer's pixel-to-pixel feature you would have slight bars.

I bought this for the awesome soundtrack in DTS HD MA, sure beat the crap out the dvd version.

And the difference between both on BluRay is even more appreciated, if you listen the Commentary track you'll understand the choice that were made here

+ i like when company pair a new release with catalog titles..

I'll pick it up in a BOGO eventually or when it's cheap, JUST for the DTS-HD MA. I know the picture will suck but I'm sure it will sound good. I got 28 Weeks Later in Blu, I'll watch it when my friend visits. Pretty damn good considering it's a sequel I saw in theaters.
