Default Batman Begins

Anyone have any idea when Batman Begins might come out on Blu Ray? I currently do not own either format, but I'm graduating college in May and hopefully with a pretty good job I'll be able to afford Blu Ray. At the same time, I might keep waiting for a while until it becomes more obvious that Blu Ray will win before I buy. Batman Begins is one of my favorite movies ever and The Dark Knight is probably my most anticipated movie ever, so assuming that one is awesome, winter 2008 will probably be a great time for me to jump from DVD to Blu Ray assuming WB keeps producing their titles in Blu Ray. Hopefully Batman Begins comes out on Blu Ray around the time TDK is released into theaters.

Another film series that I absolutely love is the POTC franchise. I'm glad it's on Blu Ray instead of HD-DVD because from what I can tell, Blu Ray is likely going to win the war in the long run. I personally can't stand Sony and I think they're ripping customers off with their release of the Spider-Man trilogy. They're not letting people buy the first two separately, which is ridiculous. As much as I would not like to see Sony win, it does appear that Blu Ray will eventually win.

It hasent been announced or anything... i dont see whats taking them so long with this release, but i have the HD DVD one. And people really need to stop thinking Either format is gonna win anytime soon. itll be 2 or maybe even 5 years before we see either format as a "winner". I dont understand why anybody thinks its just gonna happen so soon. this is not nintendo vs sega or something like that, and honestly i could see these formats co-exsisting with dvd for alooong time to come.

I never said soon. I said in the long run, which could mean 5+ years at the rate it's going right now. I just don't want to be caught getting ripped off in the long run, which is exactly what would happen if I selected HD DVD. The main reason I would upgrade at the moment is Batman Begins/The Dark Knight, probably in winter 2008 once The Dark Knight comes to home video.

I wonder if Blu-Ray will go the way of DVD-rerelease-as-advertisement-of-upcoming-theatrical-feature and have a 'Batman Begins: Batman Middles Edition' on Blu-Ray sometime before July 2008 which includes a 'Dark Knight' trailer and EPK spot.

Brendan,

I believe I read somewhere that the Blu-ray version "should" be released right around the same time as the Dark Knight is out in the theaters. There has been no official announcement though as fr as a date though.

Isn't the price of the Spider-man trilogy set $60? That's not that expensive for 3 movies. Even if you bought a separate edition of Spiderman 1 and 2, wouldn't the cost be about the same anyway?

I think his gripe was the fact that he didn't have the choice to buy the 1st 2 separately without buying the 3rd one (which I am guessing he didn't like and doesn't want). Much like people where upset about the Die Hard trilogy release before they split the releases up.
