Default 'Rush Hour 3' - pre-release buzz

New Line is apparently planning a next-gen release for the the third film in the Jackie Chan-Chris Tucker franchise, with the Blu-ray edition hitting stores on December 26, day-and-date with the standard-def DVD), and an HD DVD edition to follow sometime in 2008.

I've said it before. Region coding will be an issue with HD-DVD. Studios don't want people buying across certain borders due to distribution contracts.

This film will still be playing in theaters in some countries, and there is a wondow in those countries for pay-per-view,ect. This is going to be a real negative for HD-DVD. I think other studios might follow since New Line brought this to attention.

I have to agree. This movie only starts here in Austraila next week. When dvd's first came out not many players in Australia were mutli region so studios could release dvd's as they pleased.
I think studios use region coding to protect their content to make as much money from box office sales as possible, whether that's good or bad is one of the longest running arguements.

Not as good as 1 and 2 but its worth a rental at least but i am glad New Line is doing this its payback for some of the warner brothers titles that went hd-dvd and then coming out later in blu-ray like the matrix and batman begins which probably wont be out to christmas or next year. i think this means new line likes blu-ray better then hd-dvd if they are going to pull off something like this
