Default 'House of 1000 Corpses' - High-Def Digest review

Peter's 'House of 1000 Corpses' review is up. An easy recommend for Rob Zombie fans, he says this Blu-ray release is quite strong, boasting a top-notch transfer, a full DTS 7.1 surround track, and decent (if not over-stuffed) set of extras.

This would be atop my wishlist, but after how horrible I felt the Devil's Rejects HD transfer was, I'm going to pass on this one for the time being, maybe just trade for it after a while.

Great, great movie though.

Why would the transfer of Devil's Rejects affect your decision to buy House of 1000 Corpses? Devil's Rejects was an early Lionsgate release and was limited to a MPEG-2 SL 25GB disc. That is not the case here.

I always felt on standard dvd, rejects had better pq than 1000k corpses, and the piss poor transfer on rejects is my least favorite yet, worse than Kiss of the Dragon. But you have a valid point about the MPEG-2 that I didn't consider.

Have to think about this one. I thought Rejects was messed up and for a horror fan myself, some of Rejects scenes were too disturbing for me. Dont like horror movies that go over the top. I want to see Halloween, but I am not a Zombie fan.

The review looks promising for this title. I've seen the movie and liked it, so I will definitely buy it. This will make a great double-feature with "The Devil's Rejects."

Looks like a good review but I can't keep rebuying every dvd I have. This one unfortunately is going to get passed on.
