Default The Simpsons Movie December 18th

I decided this movie needs it's own thread as we all await a Blu-ray release.

The Simpsons movie has been given a december 18th DVD release date (which may change) and no word of a Blu-ray version, at least not at the moment. (I will kill if it isn't released on Blu-ray).

Specs:
English Dolby Surround 5.1
English DTS 5.1 ES
Spanish Dolby Surround
French Dolby Surround

English and Spanish subtitles

It will be available in both widescreen and fullscreen, and will include quite a few extas:

Deleted Scenes:
Levels
Springfield News
DMV
Sausage Truck
Animals Painting

Promos:
Jay Leno Promo
American Idol Promo
American Idol Cold Open
Lobby Promo
TH Spoof

Animators Commentary: David Silverman, Mike B. Anderson, Rich Moore, Steven Dean Moore

Producers Commentary: James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, Richard Sakai, Al Jean, Mike Scully, David Silverman, Dan Castellaneta, and Yeardly Smith.

Yes, it was hilarious! I really really really hope it gets a Blu-ray release, I'm sure it would sell very well or at least decently. It's just the demographic for PS3 owners typically.

for PS3 demographic? Wasnt it just said that like only 20% of PS3 owners are aware of Blu-ray movies and or buy them. One of those two yet last time I checked, this movie has made Worldwide: $443,529,861. Meaning that its a big title in general, having nothing to due with that "PS3 demographs" are boosting BD sales over HD DVD, even though that excuse is used everytime BD outsells HD DVD in the same title (everytime).

20% is still a lot, and will definitely appeal to video game owners. To doubt PS3 demographics is a little silly, of course it matters. There are people who only buy the best movies on Blu-ray, many of my friends are this way with their ps3s. They bought 300, Casino Royale, and plan on buying The Simpsons movie when it comes out. Of course my friends are all 16-17, and movies like this make them want to buy Blu.

I know I will be picking this movie up at least on SD. If I have a BR player by then, even better. Movie was hilarious. Going with previous trends season 11 should be out around that time frame as well. Wonder who's head will be on that box set.

For Fox sakes, we totally need this on Blu-Ray. This is in my instant "must buy" category. I hope we get a release date on this soon, Fox would be dumb not to release this before Christmas on BD. I'm just hoping they use a 50GB disc (or 2) and cram it full of special features and deleted extras!

I cant see a reason why it would not see a blu-ray release. Well....ok...maybe one. Fox may want to milk it for all its worth by releasing it on dvd and a few months later, release it on blu. I kind of doubt that this would happen but you never know. This movie had me crying hysterically 4 times!!! I loved this movie.
