Default 'Pathfinder' -- pre-release buzz

Fox has announced another one for day-and-date Blu-ray release, 'Pathfinder':

The film got brushed aside in theaters, but Fox is giving it the full BD-50 treatment, with 1080p/MPEG-2 video, DTS-MA audio, an audio commentary, deleted scenes, featuretes and BR exclusive subtitle fact track.

Retail is $39.98, and street date November 20.

uh peter Path finder is not a day and date release its been on SD DVD since earlier this summer. Any way bad movie I will not be picking this up.

I was gonna say, didnt this come out a month or so ago? I coulda swore I saw the standard def dvd packaged with another movie.. maybe Alexander or something..

Skip! Crappy movie in theaters, not gonna bother -_-V

Yes, the unrated version has already been released on DVD. I netflixed it, but cannot get into it. The action of PATHFINDER takes place in a very nordic medieval world where the good guys speak perfectly modern english. That stumps me! PATHFINDER had the misfortune of opening alongside 300 earlier in the year. It might look good on Blu-ray. Many scenes are dimly lit with lots of smoke and haze. A bad transfer would doom this release.

That fact/trivia track is most likely done with BD-J.

Netflixed the SD disc and watched it this weekend. Movie was horrible. Would never watch it again. The only thing I liked were the viking costumes. The helmets in particular were cool.

The trailer looked like a real crapfest. 14% and 3.6/10 average at Rotten Tomatoes confirm that this is not even worth a look.

Also: Still MPEG2, Fox?
