Default Do you refrain from buying DVD's now?

I always hold back buying my favorite movies on DVD now because I know that they will most likely come out on Blu-Ray sometime in the future. I was gonna buy Se7en 2 disc DVD on Ebay but I know that it will most likely come out sometime in the future for Blu-Ray.

Do most people hold back from buying DVD's or just buy the standard DVD then double dip when their movie comes out on Blu-Ray?

I have not purchased even ONE standard DVD since I bought my Blu-Ray and HD-DVD players.

Standard DVD is still an excellent format, but I invested too much money into my Hi-Def players and my HD-TV to keep buying standard DVDs.

I refrain, but I haven't stopped. I'll be picking up Veronica Mars S3 in October, and I'll probably buy Heroes S1 on SD when it comes out. Both are worth double dipping on, but they are also titles that I want in my collection to watch and own ASAP, and might be a long time before coming to Blu.

Same goes for the new Serenity release this Tuesday. However, as a whole, I don't buy DVD's anymore and intend to wait for the Blu releases. One such example will be 1408, which I thought was great, but is only coming out on SD. I'll wait for the Blu to come.

I have 99.9% stopped buying them. There is an exception, most movies for my son (he's 3 and really into superman cartoons right now) are not available in either HD format. My wife also demanded the movie Marie Antoinette recently which again is not available on either HD format. All other DVDs I want to see are netflixed.

I still buy dvds even though I have a PS3 and HD DVD 360 add on(360 broke so useless am now giving up on 360's) I am waiting to get a stand alone HD DVD player. I can still enjoy SD DVDs. I will continue to buy SD DVDS untill they become useless like VHS.

I totally forgot about Veronica Mars coming out. I'm looking forward to picking that one up. I also realized that I totally lied in my first post. I have bought a few standard DVDs since I got my player. I bought Pans Labyrinth, One Tree Hill Season 3, and Darkwing Duck on regular DVD.
