Default FIFTH ELEMENT opinion!

Hey I was thinking, since everyone has sent in their old copies of the Fifth Element for a free remastered one, do you think the old one might ever become worth money? Especially that it is no longer in production? Just a thought.

That would be funny though. Thousands would be so pissed because they sent their's back.

Ebay auction would list it as first mistake Blu Ray...$200 buy it now

I doubt it for The Fifth Element - the first issue was never pulled / recalled, sold quite a few copies, and still can be found on some retailers shelves.

But, the pulled release of 'Commando' from Fox has been going for over $70 on eBay.

If it was actually a good transfer and they just changed some stuff around it might be collectable. Since it was basically a bad disc I can't see anyone collecting it.

It was never released to retailers. This, along with a few other MGM titles such as RoboCop, were pulled at the last minute when MGM changed their distributor from Sony to Fox. Screener copies were sent out to various reviewers, however, and some of those have made their way to eBay.

I have been to at least 6 different stores here that are still selling the original. One HMV was sell both versions. Does anyone know if Sony actually sent out a memo to the retail stores asking them to return the poor quality ones? I can imagine that they would like to keep it as quiet as possible, if every disk that went out was to be replaced it would cost them a fortune
