Default Has anyone had any issues with Universal discs lately?

All three of my JP movies will not load. I put the discs in the PS3 and they just sit on a screen with Universal's logo spinning as if it is trying to load the disc continuously. I try to hit menu but it says the operation is not available right now. Has anyone else had this issue?

Going to ask the standard question as it seems more heavily focused on Universal titles --- Disconnected from the internet and/or cleared all BD Live cache? It seems BD Live is a "feature" of Blu-ray but it never seems to work.

I have no idea what a BD Live cache is, but yes, my PS3 is no longer able to connect via wifi. I don't see why that would matter though. They are physical discs.

It matters. Trust Me. Poke around your settings somewhere and find it.

I had this happen with my PS3 whenever Universal discs wanted to download a fresh trailer for a new title ahead of the main feature. I haven't encountered that in a long time though

Yeah, they won't play but every other Universal disc plays without an issue.

The other Universal discs already have BD Live data in memory.
Hey if you don't want to try what I suggested, that's fine. I doubt there is anything new about their discs.

You've asked for help, I offered a suggestion based on years of experience, and all you're offering in return are arguments and push back.

Was your cache thing supposed to be a suggestion? If so, I did not read it as such. How do I clear whatever a cache is on my PS3?

They changed the method to get there with newer firmwares.

You need to use the file utility menu and explore the hard drive. There is a folder labeled "BD DATA Utility" - delete this folder or the contents of this folder. It will not brick your system, the worst that will happen is any downloaded content on previous BD Live enabled titles will be deleted and your last played position bookmark might also be erased from previous discs.

If you're feeling antsy on this, you could always go to uphe.com and try to contact them.

I have not turned on my PS3 in awhile and I probably have a different firmware than you anyway.

I'll try that.

I've never downloaded any BD Live content though, so I shouldn't have anything to redownload.

Well either way, I'll let you know if it works when I get to do it, thanks.
