I know none of these, sorry. Maybe I was sheltered growing up.

Tree of Life is a movie from 2011 and was an Oscar nominee for Best Picture. You've been posting here longer than that.

Wait a minute... that's not that awful horrible movie with Rachael Weiss and Hugh Jackman where Weiss plays a dying wife and Jackman is trying to find the tree of life to save her, is it? If so, I can not believe Criterion would release that.

That explains it. The academy is so out of touch with reality. I generally do not watch the Academy Awards nor generally see the movies that they recognize. You get that odd stretch that I might be in line but generally not. This year I bought Shape of Water, last year it was La La Land.

La La Land was awful. Though, I guess Emma Stone can sing slightly better than Emma Watson.

I agree. I couldn't wait for La La Land to be over.

There's a web site called www.imdb.com where you can look stuff like this up before posting.

The movie you're thinking of is The Fountain. Tree of Life stars Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain. I'm sure you'll hate it just as much.

Or I could just, you know, utilize the whole point of a discussion board. Revolutionary, I know.

And yes, it is The Fountain I was thinking about. God damn what an awful movie that was. All of that hype for nothing.
