Deciding if I should get this right away or wait for the eventual "The Complete Tom Baker Years" collection.

Any idea what stories are on this? Wondering if I should also just get rid of the DVDs I have right now.

I don't know what stories, beyond it being just that complete first season - I tried digging around for more specs but all I got was that it was a thing that was coming, no official artwork - or at least nothing that looked like a mockup to get a hint about it. I always liked the Tom Baker years when I was a kid so this one's got me excited.

So does anyone know what episodes are on here? Amazon still doesn't have it listed.

I liked Tom Baker myself so I would be curious.
Have you checked thetvdb.com or wiki?

All of this has to be up unconverted from video (576p?) right? Any 16mm material was probably lost in time. I see one of the stories is coming to theaters. So, I wonder how it will look on blu.

I can tell you based on my experience with video, DVD Mpeg2 destroys video when compared to H.264 so even a simple conversion from a full resolution master to BD will be a huge improvement. 16mm has the potential to look very good on 1080P, definitely better that 576P PAL DVD.

I don't know what etv is, but I was planning to check tvshowsondvd.com since that was my go to site for Doctor Who releases and now they took the site down. -_-

thetvdb.com - quite extensive list of tv shows. Even has screen images of most episodes.

Huh, I can't find any blu-ray information on that site at all.

Would love to know what "specially restored" means.

No idea, but I guess there are some defects in the audio of some episodes.

So can someone tell me about this supposed audio issue? I'm getting this set for Xmas (or at least, assumptively), and I need to know if this is real. If so, how do I know if the one I get for Xmas is corrected or not?
