Default Pirates 3 question...

I was just looking at the specs on this and it says 5.1 uncompressed.I thought i read somewhere this was going to be 7.1?

yea it was originlly suppose to be and then I posted a picture of the add for it and on that, it said 5.1 so we will see I guess but for now, its 5.1

yea,that sucks,looks like if you have a nice 7.1 surround setup you can only watch "Ultimate Avengers" to enjoy it.Studios need to get on the stick.

when the average consumer still dosent have a 5.1, let alone a decent or real 5.1 (not those home theater in a box pos) there is little point in 7.1.

Yes. I'm on my 4th 7.1 receiver. I've been using 7.1 since 2001. Most people still listen in stereo if that.

The source doesn't need to be discrete in order to take advantage of 7.1. I'm always amazed how well both my recent 7.1 AVR's extrapolated material from the side channels and place that material in the back surrounds.

A good number of movies have EX encoded surround channels even if they don't list it on the box. In my experience, having 4 surrounds really opens up your surround field.

But, it is certainly a niche of a niche. So heh...
