Default Heat: Director's Definitive Edition - HDD Review

Highly Recommended for anyone who doesn't already own Heat on Blu-ray, but you may not want to double dip if you do.

6/13/17 UPDATE: This thread was changed from an announcement about Heat to a full fleged review.

Was sort of expecting this one to happen but after the sound of silence I caved and bought the Zavvi Steelbook.
I would almost expect this to be an upcoming 4K title.

I've never seen it but any movie with Jim Morrison in it can't be all bad. I'll hold out for the 4K.

Priced at $7.88 (but I'll wait for HDD's review).

I might have to revisit it one of these days... It's one of those movies that has a great reputation, but when I watched it many, many years ago (on VHS!) I'm sorry to say, I got so bored I turned off at about the point where they started having a shootout in the street or something. So I've never finished it! ;-) (shocking, I know)

At $6.99 from Amazon I had to bite.

The review is spot on and brought back memories on this phenomenal movie.

This is the winner of the Movie I've Tried The Most Times to Like award. Love the muscular aesthetics, the gun play, love the actors, and the crime story is fine. But the script is really bad. The family parts are so contrived and soap-operatic.

Great movie, but no double dipping for me. I'm putting that $6.99 towards a Taco Bell chalupa combo meal.

Stupid question, but: how does a Warner Bros movie get released by 20th Century Fox? I've heard of niche labels (Scream, Twilight, Criterion) releasing studio movies, but a major releasing a film from another major? Huh?
