Default Wal-Mart Blu-ray vs HD-DVD 2:1

I visited a local Wal-Mart store and noticed that they have expanded their Blu-ray offerings.

While previously, their Blu-ray titles were even with HD-DVD. Now I noticed that the Blu-ray selection (and shelf space!) was twice what the HD-DVD offerings were.

Another nail in the coffin?

Yes your local walmart carrying more blu-ray movies is a nail in the coffin.

dont wanna turn this into smackdown but the fact that blu-ray has been out selling hd dvd for the last how long, despite higher prices might be the nail in the coffin. The fact that they carry more is just the coffin itself

Every time I go into a Wal-mart or Target here in Phoenix, I always check out the HD discs. Last time I went into a Wal-mart here, there were 27 Blu-ray titles to 5 HD. There was one sold out on HD (Hot Fuzz) and three sold out on Blu-ray. This was the week before 300 came out.

Yeah, Wally World might be a lot of things but they are not stupid. They know how sales figures work and as much as people want to bash them for not carrying all that much on HD dics, think about the amount that they purchase. Let's say they order one million copies of 300 on each format, they want to make sure they aren't stuck with 100,000 of them left in a warehouse someplace because one or the other doesn't sell like they think it would.

Why i've been asking for "my local store stories" sub forum. Countless posts on these pointless bits of facts.
