This better be fully remastered, complete with missing footage, and damn it all it better have a ton of extra features! I saw this in the theater when I was four years old. It was the first time that I learned the hero could die.

Well Damn! I just bought the import, should have waited a bit longer.

If the US release has more special features than the import, I will get it also.

They said they are going to be remastering it from the original 35mm print.

Not sure what you mean by missing footage though.

Apparently through the various versions there's scenes during the big initial fight with the Decepticons where cetain bots are fighting eachother that appear in some releases and not in others. Not sure if this is 100% true or not but it's a common complaint that I've heard over the years.

The Sony 20th anniversary DVD was pretty good. It doesn't have any added scenes. The biggest issue with anything G1 transformers, as always, is the colors and color errors. Let's hope they get it all correct.

I would love to have a BD release with perfect colors, and with errors such as dual Starscreams and dual Thundercrackers on screen etc.., fixed on the complete G1 series.

Are you talking about the movie or TV series?

And why would you want errors in it? That is exactly what Rhino got crapped on for when they used the wrong masters.

The movie has tons of coloring issues too. I talked about this in my old review of the UK import Blu-ray:
