Default 'The Witch' - High-Def Digest Review

Aaron has reviewed 'The Witch'. This is recommended. Here's why...

Aaron - can you add to your review what the disc does upon insertion? Does it go straight to a main menu? How many forced trailers? Menu button disabled? Do you have to manually skip through each one? Lionsgate discs are usually pretty annoying in this regard.

Anyone looking at buying this this week, Walmart B&M has it for $14.96. As Amazon no longer has the "report a lower price" tool they will sit a couple bucks higher. I blind bought it. Heard discussion some time back about this being a love or hate movie, nothing really in between.

I lost count of pre-menu trailers at, like, 15... (Only sort of joking.)

I really wanted to like that movie... if I would have known that it is not a horror movie in any way I would have liked it, as it is a well-made movie. The fact that it was marketed as a horror movie soured me on it, as it is really a drama.

This was an OK movie. The acting was great and the setting was great.
Too bad the movie just falls apart in the third act, could of been great all around...

Picked up the Canadian exclusive steelbook at Walmart yesterday. VERY nice steelbook. Looking forward to watching this this weekend.

Not scary, not creepy, extremely overhyped!

FYI to anyone outside of Canada - Amazon.ca is selling it as well.

Absolutely right... I don't understand the comments on the internet about this movie. Many people call it "scary" or "terrifying." I just don't get it.
