Default 'Special Effects Collection' - High-Def Digest Review

Matthew has reviewed the 'Special Effects Collection'. He says it doesn't get much better than this if you love classic science fiction and adventure movies. This set is highly recommended!

I was wondering why a set like this would be released and at what price. But I thought it was a documentary about the effects of these movies. Glad to see a review to tell me that no, it's the movies themselves!

If you break it out price wise, this four-movie set is the best deal - even if all you want is two of the movies. I wasn't expecting much from the A/V side of things, but these were big improvements over my old DVDs

The name "Special Effects Collection" is pretty lame. I'm sure that is causing a lot of confusion.

Before I read what these were about I thought they were like a collection of special effects documentaries

It's not as signature as "Hammer Horror Collection" - also it's a bit of a stretch because 3 of the four are Stop-motion effects pictures where 'Them!' is largely gigantic puppets and miniatures. Still, love to have them on BR

I was like, wow a Harryhausen documentary or something.
